Rewrite the Stars

I just watched The Greatest Showman with my family, and we all loved it.

The movie reminds us that anyone can overcome adversity and highlights the importance of having dreams.

It’s a great message for kids—and even more so for adults…

who sometimes forget to dream.

Or don’t dare to dream anymore…

because of all the rejections and “no’s” we face in life.

In 2014, I offered my public speaking services to two leading event organizers in Russia (this was before the invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions), and their response was:

Bummer!

Fast forward to December 2018…

I’m the headline speaker at the Money Forum Moscow (the largest investing event in Russia), sharing the stage with Lawrence A. Cunningham (Berkshire Beyond Buffett, How to Think Like Benjamin Graham and Invest Like Warren Buffett) and Robert G. Allen (The One Minute Millionaire, Multiple Streams of Income).

Looking back, they were right to turn me down in 2014—I had very little to offer at the time.

But four years, a lot of hard work, and determination can make a big difference.

So, if you have big dreams and people are turning you down now, don’t give up. Put in the work, stay persistent, and you will get there.
